The attorneys at Budge & Heipt work tirelessly to hold police, law enforcement, jails, and prisons accountable for constitutional violations that result in wrongful death or serious bodily harm.
Our attorneys are licensed to practice in the state of Washington, and we are based in Seattle. However, because our work involves violations of the U.S. Constitution, our lawyers have handled cases against prisons, jails, and police departments in federal courts across the nation. We have handled wrongful death and serious injury cases in Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, Wisconsin and elsewhere and we routinely review cases from other states.
In appropriate circumstances, and in compliance with applicable ethical standards, we sometimes collaborate with other attorneys to prepare and try cases. We generally accept the lead counsel role in all pre-trial and trial activities but are willing to discuss participation from the referring attorney, when appropriate.
