A skilled trial lawyer with a proven track record of exceptional results, Corinne Sebren joined Budge & Heipt in 2025, bringing with her a background in civil rights law, advocacy, and complex litigation. Her practice focuses on law enforcement and government accountability, wrongful incarceration, malicious prosecution, wrongful death or serious injury in jail, and other serious civil rights violations. Corinne offers tenacious representation to individuals and families who have experienced harm at the hands of law enforcement or government systems.
Corinne earned her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Washington Law Review and was awarded the Judge Eugene A. Wright Scholar Award. Before entering the legal profession, Corinne applied her degree in Behavioral Neuroscience as Advocacy Director and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Whatcom County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Prior to joining Budge & Heipt, Corinne represented clients in high stakes civil rights litigation against corporations and local governments. Her work has been locally and nationally recognized by publications such as The Seattle Times, NPR, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and Rolling Stone, among others. Corinne cultivates a practice defined by integrity, empathy, and resilience, and by her readiness to take cases to trial when her clients’ rights are on the line.
In April 2025, Corinne served as co-lead counsel in a federal civil rights jury trial against one of the nation’s largest for-profit correctional healthcare corporations, which resulted in a $25 million verdict for the plaintiff. Corinne has also obtained several seven-figure settlements in federal civil rights cases involving wrongful death in our county jails. In her tireless representation of victims of abuse and neglect in jails and prisons, Corinne has taken and defended numerous depositions. Corinne’s civil rights advocacy work extends beyond the courtroom—she has advocated before policymakers at the local, state, federal, and international level.
Corinne is a member of the Washington bar and has been admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the Washington State Association for Justice and serves as a Board member of the Washington Law Review Association. Originally from Ellensburg, Washington, Corinne enjoys spending time in the Cascades with her friends and family. When not playing outdoors, she can usually be found in front of a fireplace reading with her dog, Lunchbox.
